The Road to Ruin
I can't say a lot of good things about this film. The first half is watchable, after that it's all down hill.
2 stars for what, I don't know, maybe I'm just kind.

Teen Hi-Jinks In the 1930's
I had heard about this picture over the years, but never saw it until now. IMDB says it was a re-make of a 1928 Silent which was more about illegal booze and its after effects in the roaring 20's. By 1934, booze was the fuel to whatever fire you wanted to stoke up. It all seems rather naive by today's standards. In fact by standards in the 1950's when I was a teen, and we're all going to hell for our behavior then, this is pretty tame stuff. More talk than anything else and so over the top by any standard its totally laughable. Glad I looked in on it finally, but it was rough going. Picture quality was exceptional. Sound on the other hand was not only bad but missing and out of sync at times as well.
One note about the actors. If you have to cast an evil abortionist, Ted Lorch is your man. He delights in this small part. If you've seen any of his other oily villians from the 30's and that era, he's fun to watch. You've been warned. Buffs only.
